The Canteen” is calling on all you recruits to help us win the battle to make an epic world war 2 movie! If you ever wanted to make a movie, here’s your chance!

This unique project promises to be an exciting experience involving WW2 period soldiers, props, weapons, and vehicles in recreating the battlefields of war torn Europe. If you have any interest in WW2 or the behind the scenes on how war movies are made this is the project for you. Come relive history by helping us make this movie!

So what's this all about?

"The Canteen" is a short story that follows the unlikely journey of a GI's water canteen that falls to the ground during battle. The canteen gets picked up and passed around from soldier to soldier, telling small parts of a bigger story.

It may be an odd little thing to have a vantage point, but a canteen is a sort of dichotomy on the battlefield, meant to sustain life rather than take it away. But no war could be won without it.

Through following the canteen we see a simple truth, that every action, no matter how seemingly small can have a profound impact on others, and that sometimes it's the smallest of things that can save lives.

Who are you people?

This film is being made by two best buddies, director Andy Painter and DP/producer Doug Rowland. This is a passion project for Andy and Doug who have been making films since before attending film school together over 6 years ago. Andy went on to form an Orlando based film and video production company called Vintage Studios, LLC, which you can visit here: vsprofilms.com. Doug moved to Colorado and is now co-owner of Snowcap Studios.

Their biggest project to date is "Caesar" a black & white gangster film take on the Shakespearean play Julius Caesar. To own your copy of "Caesar" go here! http://www.filmbaby.com/films/4630.Proceeds also go toward funding this film!

Our Purpose:

This all started because of Andy's grandfather. Although he died before Andy was old enough to know him, Andy's father passed down his stories to Andy at a young age, leaving an indelible impression. Ever since then, Andy has desired to tell stories that support our veterans. This movie is his big chance!

Andy Painter is a member and volunteer with the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 that supports our veterans both current and retired. He has donated his services and skills as a filmmaker with the AAHF (aka the Sky Soldiers) for the past 3 years creating promotional material and awareness films. Andy is dedicated to supporting our veterans with this project. He will be working closely with local central Florida non-profit military history organizations to help support their efforts educating the public.

This film will serve not only as an entertainment piece but as a promotional piece to help the causes of local non-profit historical groups who serve our veterans here in Central, FL.

This picture will be entirely shot and produced in central FL, helping to attract commerce to the area, provide work for Floridians and to help raise awareness of the potential of independent film production year 'round!
