IU
« on: June 21, 2010, 06:48:36 AM »

I have not worked since Jan. 2009. I filed for IU. I'm currently 80% disabled. 50% PTSD, 20% for spine, 10% tinnitus and 10% for scars and not sure of the rest. VA fuzzy math comes out to 80%. My VA psychologist gave me a gaf score of 50 and said I was unable to maintain employment. The physical doc said I was okay for light duty type jobs.

My question is what do you think my odds are of getting IU. I do not have a history of seeking PTSD help. I just started Vet meetings about a month ago.

My gaf score in 2008 was 55 and they up my PTSD to 50% at that time.

Thanks for you feedback. USMC Vietnam Grunt twice wounded 1968.

i am by no means an expert, hopefully someone else will chime in, maybe shoot an email out to the guy in this thread:

you may have seen it already though - appears you need to have 1 at 60% - but again, I am not an expert. Your town VA guy should know exactly what you need. Check it out.
