This magnificent red ape is ORANG[man UTAN[ jungle] [ . Sadly man has almost eliminated  them, by destroying their habitat, The Indonesian Government [ so corrupt]; they allow loggers to destroy the jungle these great apes call "home". Actually; to confront them close up is at first scary; but soon you realise that they mean us no harm and are as curious about us as we are of them. They make a  LOT of noise as they move around ; but are mainly foraging for food. They eat fruit etc; and are NO danger to humans. The baby apes are hunted by poachers , who sell them.  The Iban people used to hunt Orangs for food ; but that is now banned.
