Some time ago , I astounded to learn that  this was manufactured in Australia, at the old ICI chemical plant at Homebush; which is also where the Olympic Games were held in Sydney in 2000. At that time, they had  to dredge all the topsoil off , before they could build anything; the entire site was contaminated, So much for smart thinking.

Dioxin is of course, a major ingredient of Agent Orange and its 2 liitle brothers; Agents white and blue. The name was derived from the colour of the band painted on each drum of the filthy stuff

AGENT ORAnge or its twins were routinely sprayed within our base at NUI DAT, to kill weeds etc. The trucks would move alond the dirt trails between our bunkers and spray the filthy stuff. A lot of it wafted in on top of us . No wonder I came home from Nam  with skin like sand paper.IT WOULD KILL EVERYTHING IT TOUCHED. When on patrol; we would encounter areas where it had been used as a defoliant; NOTHING REMAINED ALIVE, it was a terrible thing and NO ONE ever warned us about the danger. In 1979; the Australian Government finally admitted ALL of their errors from Vietnam; including the blame for over use of alcohol and tobacco products. We took a daily drug called Palludrin, to control Malaria. It had a secret ingredient which was used to treat Leprosy[ another classic blunder].....
